FAQ

What the hell is this?

This is a website. Some people call it a "blog." I call it "embarassing minutiae of my life transcribed on the internet for everyone to see." While I've been doing this for a long time, I've never really subscribed to the accepted definition of a "blog", wherein I'm apparently supposed to link to external sites and talk about their Very Important content. That's what metafilter is for, guys.

This is pretty internal, pretty introspective, and pretty unimportant. It is, at its most base, an online journal--minus amazing mindless posts like, "lol today I went to the store with Julie and we ran into Mike and then we drove in Julie's car back to her house and then we watched TV and we ordered pizza, omg, it was the best pizza ever. I fell asleep while watching Sixteen Candles and then when I woke up  it was morning, I don't know why."

Actually those are my favourite posts on all the internet.

Why Theoretically?

I used to write in this a lot. At least once a day--sometimes more. I filtered so much of my life through the words on this page, but as with most writing, things were not always what they seemed and I became pretty aware of that. I take creative license, I embellish, and I selectively omit. It was never about being factual--just about trying to make the mundane seem interesting (and communicating with friends who read this).

Anyway, a lot of the events and a lot of my characterisation in here is definitely real and true... in theory. Theoretically, this is what I believe and what I see and do. In practice... maybe not so much.

Also, this sounds way more Serious Business than it actually is. Really, I tried to get intheory.org but it was already taken.*

*It's for sale now, for $688.00. Whatever, guys.
